Marking content as "add to playlist" with a button on the remote (or through a Voice command) makes it available for playback on demand: as there's no local or even user-specific cloud storage*, it's a different paradigm to 'Recording'.
*but there's a notional ' 1000 hour cloud capacity ' with a subscription

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out morePeople need to forget how TV in the past works, with streaming there is no recording as content is avaiable for 12 months until it expires, you are just accessing a large collection of VODs like you do on Netflix, YouTube etc...
You have a playlist that you add programmes to so you can more easily access the content you want to watch
@Doc5907 Hardly anyone reads pinned posts 😞 they just blindly ask their question even if it's been asked 1,000,000 times already and there is an FAQ 😞

or fragments of one: it should still be possible to 'Record' the five minutes of a local news broadcast which happens to feature your street and that specific portion will be flagged for playback.
However, as this 'Recording' doesn't actually exist in any meaningful standalone way, long-term retention is entirely at the whim of Sky, and I don't think any information on that has been made public yet.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@TimmyBGood Can't see how that will be worked into it. Similarly, recording the 10 minutes of a day's play at a Test Match. All or nothing I'd expect.

No reason it shouldn't be possible: it's all just data access flagging, but accessing data spread over data centres rather than on the one HDD in a previous generation Sky PVR.

So I record WWE Raw, NXT and Smackdoen on Bt sport live as on sky q it's days before you can watch again but on the bf sport app we don't have access too it's available instantly on demand so can you record from live TV?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Ammo79 Yes you can record from live tv
but note if you transfer from Q to glass you'll have to transfer your bt sports subscription to Sky from bt so you'll lose access to the bt sports app

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Ammo79With glass you don't actually record anything you just add it to your list up to a total of 1000 hours then stream it when you wish.

08 Oct 2021 10:19 PM
