Can’t change channel while recording

I can’t change channel while recording. Sky plus  wants to reschedule the recording to another time. I recently had a sky engineer visit because the sensor module had failed on the dish, this was replaced but now I can’t record programmes. What can I do?

What are your signal strengths like found via services > settings > signal ?

Your signal strengths indicate that you only have one cable from the dish? Is that right?

No we have 2 cables  labelled dish 1 and 2 into this box.  We have 2 boxes,, this Hd plus box which has the recording issue and a simple HD box with no recording facility. The simple box has one dish connection. The Engineer replaced the sensor unit on the dish a couple of weeks ago, he reported that the existing sensor had failed and there was no output to either box. Nothing in the house was changed and the HD plus box worked fine before the sensor was changed. Have done a Sky+ rebuild but am loath to do a full system reset as will lose all our saved programmes.  Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Looks like you may have Single Feed Mode turned on then, in your Sky box settings. Turn if off by keying Services,0,0,1.Select on your remote to enter the hidden Installer Menu, where you'll find the setting. Toggle it off and save the new setting. Then re-check your signal strengths and you should have 4 bars, rather than 2.

I had a problem with my signal always going off so phoned sky and she solved the problem but after she did that I could only record one program and couldn't turn tv over while it was recording so I phoned them back and she said with everything what's going on I need to wait to get an engineer out when home visits was aloud again this was months ago just tried this what you said about turning single feed mode off and it  works perfect can record two programs again now thank you.

On my Sky HD box I can download and watch other channels but if I record I when I turn over to a different channel I get no signal and it's blue can anyone help thank you

Check the two cables are screwed into the box correctly

 

Most of the time a no signal error means calling someone out to fix it
