Hi,
Last night I had a broadband outage, the power and wireless LED's were green on the Qbox, but the internet LED was orange. Went through the usual checks, unplugging and resets, but nothing. This morning all green LED's were back on, but the download speed was 45mbps, a little low than nornal. But the upload speed was very, very low, 1.3mbps instead of around 16/18mbps. Is there anything I can do as I need a good upload speed for my live streams.
Steve

After an outage it can take 24-48 hours for device/throughput speed to normalise. Your downstream could be a bit better but still likely above the minimum. Your minimum download will be in more about your connection

Re: Broadband Outage
Can you post your router stats
https://community.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/m-p/2855717#M1014...
And post the results from my sky app->run tests->more about your connection

Re: Broadband Outage
Many thanks for your reply.
My main worry is that the upload speed (unless it goes back to what it was before) is very low, my current package is 59Mb/s download and 16Mb/s upload or thereabouts. I am currently a good 13Mb/s short.
Is there any point to resetting the hub or changing anything in the router settings?
Steve

Re: Broadband Outage
As mentioned already sometimes DLM needs a good 48-72 hours to sort itself out, especially after a fault fix.
One thing you can try is to switch the router off for 20mins, this will issue you a new public IP.

Re: Broadband Outage
@SPBS Your line is synced at 16.8Mb upstream according to your stats, so it's a throughput issue. How are you devices connected WiFI or ethernet? If you rely on a PC for streaming duties etc, you should be using ethernet not relying on WiFI.
Try what @jamesn123 suggested, leave the router off for at least 30 mins, this will ensur you are allocated a new IP address.

Re: Broadband Outage
I am testing on my ethernet connected PC, always had around 16Mb/s upload speed.
Will wait for it to settle down, I have no idea why is broke last night, I didn't do anything, honest 🙂

Re: Broadband Outage
@SPBS It was most likely overnight maintenance by Openreach, a necessary evil much like roadworks. No connection or provider can ever gaurantee 100% uptime.
Go ahead and try switching the router off now for half an hour if this is feasible. I had the same a few months ago where my speed halved, despite the router not even dropping the broadband connection. That did the trick and it's behaved ever since.
