Hi, I changed my package recently and didn't have equipment to return and have been charged £50 despite being told I wouldn't be

Odd that Sky wouldn't charge you.

 

I'd suggest giving Sky a call and asking them to listen to the recording of the conversation in which theu said you wouldn't be charged.

@Cbay77  This can happen if you initially initiated a cancellation but then received an offer to stay and accepted 

 

so did you initially cancel?
