Your viewing history is stored in iPlayer.

So even if you don't add something to your Playlist, you will find it keeps re-appearing when new episodes are available.

Until Sky can sort this out, you can get around it. (Your viewing history will go from iPlayer)

Or just go to iPlayer other settings  and turn off 

Autoplay Next Episode & Recommendations.

If you dare to risk your history....

Open iPlayer app on phone/tablet.

Click menu and settings 

 

Go to viewing history and clear it.

 

Now this will have to be done every time you get this happening to you, but it will do the trick.

@Jayboy1990 yes it does as i have tried it.  Seems that there is still a bit of work for Sky to do with third parties, inc. Channel 4 (sorry for mentioning that app).

@Aaln  @Anonymous  Not a useful workaround then. 

So anybody doing as @Aaln  sugests be aware you will lose all play now links to shows you actually want to be there. 

Best to wait for the next improvement from sky on play now/playlist.

Only in the history. Your added series will still be there.

We watch 'The Wheel'.   It is still listed in our list of TV Shows.

@Aaln @I mean the play now rail and it's ability to track where you are in a series on iplayer. 

following your steps would surely clear this for these items too. Unless you are saying it doesn't clear all?

@Aaln we tried it and lost several programmes, which we hadn't watched or finished watching.  So I was in deep trouble with the family for trying it.  It may keep series, but I can't vouch for that as I'm not trying it again, to much pain.  Does it remember the last programme played in a series.

Right now.... I am waiting for the puck to refresh my playlist.

The tie in with iplayer on episodes watched doesn't seem to be related to iPlayer.

We watched Superman and Lois entire series and

iPlayer shows all of it was watched but our Play Now has been stuxk on the last episode only being  3/4 watched for days now.

Now the iPlayer history looks like i haven't watched it.

Once the Play Now updates on my puck (seems not as regular as the Glass Play Now). I will know for sure.   I just clicked to watch Superman and Lois and it started the episode we last watched, not the first episode. It did this each time i was trying to get it to clear before.

So far i know that the Wheel was on last night and we watched it.  Not showing up on my Play now to watch.

@Anonymous  Thanks for letting us know what your experience is of doing this (a fail). 

@Aaln  Seems it's operated differently for you, I won't be trying it though! (Perhaps good for those that don't care losing history by mistake).
