It is a fact that people seek out places where they can vent their frustration whereas those who have had positive experiences with a product usually don't bother.
So for some balance among all the moaning, here's my experience so far.
We have been Sky customers for 12 years and switched to Q in 2016. It was full of bugs and the mini needed rebooting daily, sometimes more often. Even in the last few months we still had issues with the main box or the mini completely crashing and requiring unplugging to reboot.
Over the past two years, our trees have grown enormously and we like them because our house (detached, quite a way from any neighbours) gets a lot of privacy. We weren't keen on having to trim them but after the attendance of a Sky engineer a few months ago we knew we had not choice as we couldn't watch TV as soon as there was a bit of a breeze.
Just giving this background as the limited live TV for months has very much turned us into a streaming household.
I held off on the trees as soon as the the Sky via IP rumours started surfacing in late July. I was expecting a box but it turned out the be Glass.
Fast forward to last Friday and we had the medium Glass delivered along with a free Puck.
Setting up Glass was done in less than 5 minutes (putting it on our existing wall mount also took less than 5 minutes). It took me another 10 minutes to sign in to all the apps.
The Puck was a bit temperamental but after an hour of factory resetting it was up and running (including signing in to all apps).
Positives:
Both Glass and Puck are amazingly stable. Not experienced any issues even with the Puck after it not being used all weekend until this morning.
The sound and picture on the Glass are great compared to our old LG TV and soundbar. The Puck has improved things on the old Sony we have in the kitchen.
A lot of additional channels in HD compared to Q.
We like the playlist. Picking stuff we've started watching regardless of whether it's from TV channels, Netflix, Prime or Disney is great.
Everything is simple to use and of course we no longer have any problems because of our trees.
Electicity use while watching TV has halved compared to before.
No issues with Apple TV, Playstation and Xbox connected to the Glass.
Negatives:
Not much really.
I cannot stand ITV Hub and don't like that we are forced to use it but it's workable and regardless of what option (other than Sky Q) we would go for, we'd still have to use it.
Yes, some Channel 4 stuff becomes available very delayed but this is because of the issues Channel 4 is still experiencing following the incident with the fire supression system at their playout centre (pretty much everything was destroyed). So Glass can't be blamed.
There is one worrying detail though. Both Glass and Puck struggle on Wifi beyond belief. I am not sure why as our signal is great and no other devices have any problems. For us this wasn't a problem as we had the Q box and the mini plugged into powerline adapters (Wifi on both also extremely unreliable) and I simply did the same with Glass and the Puck. Problem solved for us, but I think this needs addressing as not everyone wants to hardwire (and they shouldn't be expected to).
Overall, our Glass experience is much better than out initial Q experience years ago. Maybe we are lucky, maybe we are the type of household Glass is aimed at.

This is very good to hear. Unfortunately you are right - people rarely post positive experiences. Having just got Glass myself I have unfortunately had some issues with the picture freezing whilst the sound continues. A picture reset seems to resolve this but it's very early days so I don't know if this will be a regular occurrence. Like most people, I'm hoping that any teething problems will be ironed out quickly as the concept is good and offers a level of versatility with the hardware that's not been available until now.

Thanks @SebM2
Good to hear it's not all doom and gloom
Can you list the channels that are in HD on Glass that are not on Q, please (ideally with channel numbers).
Thanks.

@NorfolkandGood Are you using WiFi?

@DiscoSky At the top of my head it's the following:
BBC Regional in HD including regional news
BBC Parliament
5USA
5STAR
Paramount
4seven
More coming soon if "rumours" are true.

Thanks. I only ask the question because I'd seen an official Sky list suggesting that the following are already HD but I suspect that the list contains typos.
ITVBe
Drama
Animal Planet
ID
Challenge
5SELECT
CITV
Movies 24
Movies 24+
And the same list says the following are due to go HD sometime this month:
PBS America
Together TV
TCM
GinxeSports TV
I was only asking about channel numbers as I'm trying to put together a channel list and only have the first 42 numbers!!

I think the aim is to have everything that's possible in HD in the next few weeks 😊

Good review and I must say I am happy with mine. Bar the billing issues and CH4 App. Which I find hard to believe that it is the fire as their App on BT TV and online has the new episodes straight away or the next day. The Sky one is a week behind. So why is only Sky version slow?
But besides that I am happy with mine. Still have BT TV to record on the side though so I don't get in trouble for missing episodes!

What a great review @SebM2 , thanks for taking the time to post it.
The only thing that is stopping me is the audio side of things. I currently have a Soundbox and am concerned the sound might not be that great.
Do you have any thoughts on the sound so far?
Thanks again.
Cheers

@SebM2 Glad you are enjoying the Glass Experience, we are too. Yes there are software issues and we enjoyed the motion sensor working when we walked in the room, until they broke it in the latest update. Hopeful for a fix soon. There are issues with app±s and other bits, but I was there at the start of Sky Q and boy did we have issues then!

@SebM2 Thanks for that review and not bashing like most seem to be doing on here dunno what some people thought they was getting, maybe OLED picture quality? For what it is I like it,I've had the few issues I really like the picture once you've tweaked the settings it looks pretty good in Dolby vision and HDR,yes it's not the brightest tv but who cares?
