Re: A Positive Review

I'll stick with Sky Q as what of I've seen of the reviews the playlist that replaces recordings is a mess.

Re: A Positive Review

Why post twice and also why keep coming here to state you're sticking with Sky Q. You've decided it's not for you so move on.

Re: A Positive Review

Is the lag affected by broadband speed or is it just Sky's transmission?

Re: A Positive Review

Playlist system couldn't be easier! I watched some reviews too but to be honest I am not quite sure how people are finding it difficult.🤷‍♀️

The problem is not that the playlist is difficult. It's that if any of the EPG programs you add to the playlist will be played back from an app such as All4 or ITV Hub if the program is avaiable on such. That means it's up the the channel how long the programs last andin some cases, you are only able to watch in SD. Also you have to create accounts for these apps. And other other issue that's been reported is the playlist taking someone to a pay service (I think it was Disney+) that he doesn't subscribe to.

Are you in charge here? You seem to post like you are, dictating to other users about what they should and shouldn't say.

Beginning to think there are a few sky 'plants' in the forum judging by how strongly you all jump down the throat of any one who dares criticise epic failure that is Sky Glass.

To reassure people all Sky staff have to be identified by a Sky logo. Where an unauthorised member of Sky staff posts the group of forum superusers who have access to a closed forum report that poster to the Community Managers who will either ban them from thecforum or give them a badge. If anyone else suspects a poster is staff just report the post.

However just because someone disagrees with your personal opinion about Glass though does not mean they are a plant so don't get paranod. Views and experience varies thats life. Forum rules require us to be polite to each other and while feel free to disagree with their opinion but dont attack the poster while doing so.

@scamp02 as long your DVD player uses a HDMI cable to connect to the TV then yes if it's an older DVD oplayer that uses scart technology then no

Re: A Positive Review

Can anyone confirm what it's like fast forwarding and rewinding with the streamed video rather than having it downloaded to a hard drive? The ability to wind back and forth easily as opposed to a thumbnail slideshow is a huge advantage of Sky Q for me over the streaming services. Losing that would be a bit of a deal breaker.

Re: A Positive Review

Great to hear the news. I am toying with the idea of the 65" but am struggling on two fronts:

  • I have a samsung QE65Q9F which i am sure is a much higher spec TV than the sky glass version - is it going to be worth swapping that out
  • the wifi speeds should be fine but particularly in the rooms upstairs it does struggle. I am assuming the glass set up doesn have ethernet ports?

@JackalynYes the TV and pucks have Ethernet ports although it does not show in the limited specs it does show in the installation instruction .

Re: A Positive Review

great thanks Bob 🙂 no 65" in stock at the moment by seems of it. I did call the service team but they wont offer any discounts on the TV packages apparantely 😞 so am not forking out an extra £20 a month for the same set up so will leave it there for now.

Anyone know if there are rumours/news around whether they might release just the pucks to connect to your set up so you can have dishless service without the need for the TV?
