rogue call

i have had someone call me saying my broadnband is being infected with rogue downloads

he asked me to go on my phone for a app called any desk half way through i was suspicious and put down the phone

He called and said he was cancelling my broadband and phone line

THIS SEEMS V IRREGUALAR

That's because it's a pure criminal scam.  No ISP makes such calls, 'broadnband is being infected with rogue downloads' is technically meaningless and downloading a remote access app is hugely risky as it gives the caller complete control of the device.

 

Any threat to cancel is totally bogus as long as you didn't reveal any Sky passwords.

Hopefully you didn't do this, if you didn't and gave them no details whatsoever then you will have no issues with your Sky account. Sgouldn't you get anymore such calls just out the phone down and don't talk to them at all.

I had one call me and ask me to look at the back of my router.  Apparently, the flashing lights were proof I was being 'hacked'  ðŸ¤£

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
