refund from cancelling service

We switched to a new provider last month but they didn't inform sky that we're leaving so we got charged on 28th for January period then we called sky today and the agent agree to cancel the service for us but since we just paid for January and cancel at the same day. Can we still get refund from what we just paid today? the service should be off in about 2 weeks.

Not until your bill generates a credit.  This probably won't be until the end of January now.

@Siriphan

When the payment you made appears on your account as a credit it is at this point that it can be refunded otherwise there is nothing to refund. So when you see the credit hit the reply button here to let us know then we can alert Sky;s messaging team about this as they will contact you via here about issuing the refund.

I doubt Sky would refund you for the period you didn't have the service as you didn't provide the required 14 day cancellation notice that is in the T&Cs.

this is only automatic is the new provider you are moving to uses the same openreach network if for instance you move from Sky to Virgin, as the infrastructure is different it's the customer that needs to give the cancellation notice.

Indeed, the service was provided until the end of the notice period - even if unused.

Hello , this may be a bit late but I've just checked the bill and I can already see the credit for cancellation but I still haven't received the refund yet
