Hi everyone.
i have been speaking to sky adviser's etc but to no avail, hopefully someone can explain this to me i renew my sky last month and the person i was talking to said my bill will be reduced to just over £100 p/m but on the screenshots that's not the case. It looks like im paying x2 for things i have already.
thank you for taking the time and replying to this.

Withholding payment only results in issues. You are welcome to ignore our advice but it will result in your services being restricted, late payment charges and potentially further action.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThis looks pretty simple to me. The repeated entries are for different time periods. So you're paying for a couple of months almost, up front. Maybe the renewal date didn't quite match the billing period so their billing system has rejigged things a bit. As long as they don't try to charge you again (or on a prior bill) for any of the dates covered by this one, I can't see the issue?

What do you mean? Have the advisers not explained that bill covers different dates?

An unfortunate case of recontracting just after the billing date.
The first payment after recontracting will include an adjustment for the remaining of the current billing period which depending on when the billing date is can almost double the bill. It's a quirk of being billed in advance.
The trick to reducing the cost of the recontracting is to do it a day or two before the billing date so there's only one or two days to be adjusted.

I assume that was in response to the advisors question.
(the forum sadly doesn't show which post you replied to unless you manually hit the "quote post I'm replying to" button that looks like speech marks)
Are you ok now, do you think? Happy that this bill doesn't overlap another?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSky bills are sometimes difficult to understand at the best of times. Try printing out a copy of that bill, take a highlighter and mark the items for 23 Jan to 20 Feb in one colour, then mark the items 21 Feb to 20 Mar in a different colour and see if it makes more sense.
