@Skytwit The only time Sky's price rise dramtically is when your discounts come to and end, mobile phone companies are not stranger to that practice, and neither are other TV and broadband providers.
The end of the day its your responsibility to lok after your finances and either call to negotiate a new deal or find an alternative provider who will, its entirely unrealistic to expect a provider to contact you to offer new deals.
But seeing as you won't be paying we can guess your leaving so there is not much point in furthering this conversation.
Edit,
I know plenty of people who are with EE and they never get any calls about new deals, they always have to make contact to start negotiations.

They certainly do when the fix term ends on contracts.
