Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreCustomers aren't 'thrown' out of contract. That was the length of times discounts lasted for. It's now 24 months. Good renewal discounts are harder to come by. All providers apply similar processes.

- Why are sky users having to beg for deals after being thrown out of contract after 18 months. Honestly I'm too old to go cap in hand and beg to a company when I'm paying their wages!!! Get a grip folks and stand up for yourselves.
@Skytwit Nobody has to beg for a deal and you haven't been thrown out of contract, all thats happened is your time limited discounts have ended, the onus is always on the customer to make contact to negotiate a new deal and thats the same with all providers.

Yes we are thrown out of contract , there is no need to treat us so shabbily like we are fools! And the more people accept it will not help matters. Over 25 years a sky customer, well no more!!

Just because other companies offer similiar doesn't make it right does it? Which is exactly my point....

Doesn't make it right just because others do it. Its certainly NOT up to me to negotiate a new contract!!

Strictly speaking you are not out of contract when you limited term discounts end ... you are now on a monthly rolling contract🤔
The customer is required to give 31 days notice to end the rolling contract ... and return Sky Q equipment😉

If you want further discounts, it absolutely is up to you. Sky will quite happily and legitimately charge you the full list price if you choose not to. Those are the terms and conditions you agreed to.

@Skytwit If you want a new deal and contract then its 100% up to you to instigate negotiations, it's entirely unrealistic to expect a company to chase you to offer a new contract and deal.

Your household bills must be sky high if you don't think it's your responsibility to regularly review your spend and renew contracts or change providers. That concept is nothing new and is standard for service provider industries like broadband, gas, electricity, insurance.
