old sky package

hi, I have been with sky for 17+ years now and since I have just retired am trying to reduce my sky package . I have got the BOX SET which we do not use and have not in several years. I have tried to get rid of this but all they want to do is give me  glass tv and sell me a mobile phone. I bought a new smart tv last September so don't want a new one . I have my telephone line and broadband with sky so my total, is £112 per month. the only sky tv I have is sky go extra. my broadband package is sky superfast + sky talk anytime extra. I have many times to reduce this package and failed, I have seen advertised on the sky website a package for £35 which would suit me perfectly but everytime I try to get something like this the ADVISOR they say it can't be done then say the line is breaking up and ring off.I think I am being SCAMMED here and have decided to STOP MY NEXT DIRECT DEBIT  though my bank as my partner and I are argueing over this every month now and its getting realy depresing. Can anybody please help me to resolve this issue, yours Jaqueline,,

Whatever you do, don't due this because it will prevent you from being able to contact Sky so if you can't do that then you will be stuck with what you have got. When calling try asking for retentions as they are usually the people to talk to.

No, it doesn't work like that, nor does withholding payments

You would only bee considered a new customer if you left Sky for at least 18 months.

No - that would put you in breach of contract, Sky will chase you for monies owed and charge late payment fees and ultimately pass the debt onto a debt collector if they need to.

Missing a payment would also start to negatively affect your credit rating.
