cancelling a contract before its ended

I seem to be paying a lot of money these days for tv and broadband package. £163 a month. I have asked to cancel it but they say my tv contact does not end til next year. I am moving in a few weeks and was thinking of lookinhg for another package. It's still £136 for just the TV. Does this seem a lot of money to antone else?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@CG61

That will be totally down to what platform you subscribe to, what add-ons you have (Cinema, Sport etc), and any other extras.

£136 seems to me like an outrageous amount of money for just a TV service.

If you are on Sky Q then you can call Sky and request a switch to their streaming service, Sky Stream. This will cancel your current Sky Q contract early, without penalty. If you find that you don't like Sky Stream or have trouble getting a reliable enough service from it then you can cancel it within the 31 day cooling off period, thus removing all TV service charges from Sky.

@BenJoBanjo "Outrageous" is a bit strong without knowing what the customer has subscribed to ,  as @Daniel0210 suggested!

With discounts, mine is not far short of that amount, we have nearly everything apart from Kids and TNT sport.

Sky Q, 3 mini boxes, booster and full fibre gigafast. Good WiFi coverage throughout a 4-bedroom house!
