can someone give me a number to call to cancel my TV subscription!

I already moved to Virgin and returned my SkyTV box, but Sky is still taking money/requesting payment from my account. The only options I can find are to re-start/enter a new billing method. I just want it all cancelled.

As stated Virgin cannot cancel a Sky TV subscription. You need to contactvSky to give 31 days notice (in which billing continues and Sky will expect payments as normal). Sounds like cancelling the payment method was premature.

Follow the methods on this page to cancel. A number to call will be revealed if you click the 'No I still need help' button at the bottom of the page:

Dod you contact Sky and give them the required 31 days notice to cancel your TV service as Virgin can not cancel TV services as they can only do this with broadband and talk.

Thanks, but that link doesnt work. It just gives a number I've called 4 times, which only allows me to enter new billing details to make a payment. I have cancelled my direct debit as they took money last month and I sent the box back in April, which I would have thought was indication that I no longer use their services.

How did you cancel your Sky service?

 

Its worth noting that if you did an online switch for your broadband, that won't cancel any TV sevices that will only cancel the broadband service. To cancel the TV service you need to contact Sky yourself and when cancelled you will receive an email confirming the cancellation.

 

If you didn't cancel properly then you do still owe Sky the money for the TV service and they won't let you cancel until you have paid them what is owed.

I didn't write to cancel, i sent back the box in April and have received email notification that they have it returned.

Did you have Sky Broadband as well and did you arrange for VM to cancel that?

Sending the box back isn't a valid way of cancelling the TV subscription. Therefore, you haven't actually cancelled your subscription

I did, yes. I have cancelled all Sky related products and move to Virgin, which was offering basically the same package but at half the cost for 18 months. I'd been with Sky for years, but when I tried to lower my costs they were'nt interested. But clearly even returning the SkyTV box in April wasn't sufficient notice of cancellation, even when done at their request.

No, just stating that the box had been returned. Probably, stupidly, thought that would be an end to it seeing as i could'nt access their TV without the box.

If you haven't received the email that means the TV subscription has not been cancelled. 

To cancel your TV subscription fully, if you’re out of contract you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice. The latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. (If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term).

Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following link which will lead to contact details.

(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ The link may include an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.

If you successfully cancel you should receive the previously mentioned acknowledgment email from Sky.
