Why is every deal for new users?

My package is now over £160 a month if I was to sign up as a new customer today I could get a much better deal  - yet there's no 'better' deals offered for you existing loyal customers- I have been with sky for over 35 years and all I get are bigger bills

Because attracting new customers is harder than keeping them (you're a point in case...)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

Yes I understand the concept of enticing new clients of course but it is now 2024 and modern practice in a lot of businesses is to offer proper new deals to their existing clients without whom they wouldn't function

Re: Why is every deal for new users?

As I said I fully understand the concept but feel it is out of step with how people view  things these days - so I for one am going to cancel my subscription and I'm sure I'm not the only one - I appreciate there are people that will just plod along forever and not leave - but say for instance with electricity and gas providers I don't know anyone that doesn't chop and change between them on  a regular basis to get the best deal and that has a knock on effect to other services in terms of getting a better deal - maybe there are not so many other options than to sign up to sky but there are some

Have you tried phoning sky's retentions team? You  can try haggling with them. Martin Lewis gives details of the approach to take on his webiste. You must be prepared to switch providers which is now much easier with one touch switching.

You certainly must be prepared to switch as new customers will get the better deals. Haggling with a provider may be able to get you a deal you are happy with but it unlikely to match those of new customers deals on the whole.

Also worth pointing out that whilst it should be easier with one touch switching, that unfortunatlely isn't currently the case with all switches with the system having a number of teething problems which has caused a mess which a certain percentage of switches. Also people should be aware there are still a few ISPs that are not on the new OTS platform.
