UK based customer service number only

Am struggling to get a direct number to the UK based customer service department. Indian based centre can no longer transfer anyone through for some reason. They gave me another contact number but it just puts me back through to India. Very frustrating.

Sky don't use email for general communication.

What issue do you have? We may be able to save you another call.

@MBS62

There is no direct number as your call is routed to the next available advisor wherever they are.

@MBS62  There isn't one you will be put through to first available agent regardless of location

You aren’t talking to Sky by posting here. If you are new to the forum then welcome to the Community which is made up predominantly of Sky customers helping other Sky customers which includes additional help from customers who are Superusers like myself.

There isn't a unique number to reach a UK based agent. That's not how it works. Calls go to the next available agent wherever they are based.

@MBS62  Large companies like Sky use numerous call centres based in various locations, it would be ridiculous to just have a number for UK only centres where people will only ring that number  thus causing massive queues when they have additional staff at other locations.

It's called distribution of calls to reduce waiting times, it should make no different who you speak to, the agent should be able to assist.

Therefore Sky use one number in which you are routed to the 1st available agent regardless of location or personal preference.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: UK based customer service number only

Thank you. Its infuriating as I have been put through by India for last 4 years to the Scottish hub. Now they can't even give a phone number or an email. The AI help system doesn't help either. They def dont want to keep loyal customers. After 25 years seems like its time to leave.

Re: UK based customer service number only

For past years I have been put through to UK based cancellation services by Indian call centre and got a hell of a better deal than Indian call centres could offer.  At least 25 % more discount. On on a number of call today, 1 operator gave me a number that was supposed to be for UK, it went back to India, nest operator said they didn't have the facilities to be able to transfer me over to UK, the next operator said they weren't allowed to transfer calls to UK. So its all **bleep** they can't keep their stories straight. Fed up of signing 24 month deals for all prices to change in 12 months and you have to go through this farce. This is how they treat people that have been with them 25 years.

  • Now looking at cancelling everything with sky. Fed up of signing up 24 month contract to get discounts only for things to change in 12 months and bill goes up 30%. Only dealing with UK based cancellation gets you discounts.  Been with sky 25 years and getting fed up of paying more than new customers.

With TV subscriptions, if your minimum term has ended you’ll need to give Sky the usual 31 days notice. Be aware that the latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. If they agree you’ll usually have to pay the remainder of your discounted term and only in very limited unique circumstances can you leave penalty free.

See the below link
https://www.sky.com/help/your-account/my-account-and-subscription/cancelling/cancel-my-subscription/...

Select ‘No, I still need help’ at the bottom of the link which will lead to contact methods.
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ It may include a phone number, an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ there’s a text option (Monday-Friday 9am to 4:30pm) otherwise it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.

If you successfully cancel you should receive an acknowledgment email from Sky.

Remember that billing continues through the notice period after which a credit for any overpayment will show on your bills and should be refunded about 6 weeks after your last day of connection.

If you are successful in cancelling Sky Q or Stream return packaging will be sent out near the end of your notice period for any loaned equipment Sky are expecting back. It’s important that you obtain proof of posting and keep it safe and indefinitely.

🔹

For broadband and Sky Talk subscriptions this link explains how to switch to an alternative broadband provider or the various methods to cancel completely.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-broadband

If you try to cancel whilst still in a minimum term deal you will most likely have to pay an early termination charge - Sky should notify you if you do and how much they’ll charge. Only in very limited unique circumstances will early termination charges be removed.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/charges-for-ending-your-sky-contract-early

NOTE: One Touch Switching only applies to broadband and Talk and NOT a TV subscription.

Return packaging for any equipment Sky expect back will be sent out to you near the end of the 14 day notice period to the address the account was registered at. It’s important you keep any proof of posting indefinitely.

Prices do rise annually even if you're 'in contract'. They always have. But I don't remember ever seeing an annual increase amounting to anywhere near 30%.

If they did then the right to cancel without ETC would apply...
