Hi,
On my recent bill I have charges for the following:
Ultimate TV Add On - £7.00
Sky Sports HD - £2.00
Sky HD- £9.00
Ultra HD- £4.00
can anybody offer an explanation as to what the TV Add On is for as well as explaining why I have 3 different payments for HD?

Re: Trying to understand my bill
Ultimate gives you access to Netflix via your Sky account.
To have UHD you firstly have to have the HD add-on. Sky Sports HD is always shown separately on bills.

Re: Trying to understand my bill
Thanks re Netflix. Thats now clear.
Are you saying that Ultra HD is therefore the HD bolt on for Netflix?

Re: Trying to understand my bill
I don't have/watch Netflix. My bills correctly show my HD add-on and my UHD add-on.

When you subscribe to Sky Sports there's always a corresponding line item to HD. It's a legacy item nowadays as Sports is always in HD - you are not paying extra nor can it be removed.
HD itself gives access to Sky HD channels such as Atlantic. Free to Air channels (such as BBC) don't require the sub.
As already noted, for UHD you have to have HD as a prerequisite.
UHD only applies to Sport channels and downloads (Movies/Sky content).
If you want Sport in UHD then you do end up with 3 line items on your bill...
(EDIT: UHD can influence NetFlix tier on legacy contracts)

It depends.
It changed recently. Previously HD and UHD used to lift the NetFlix tier (to Standard and Premium respectively) and this is maintained until you change (including recontract) your deal where it's quite different.
I suspect you still have this uplift.

Re: Trying to understand my bill
Thanks for your help but im afraid thats still not clear to me.
I appreciate that there is a charge for Sky HD, likewise Sky Sports HD although i'm still not clear on what the £4 charge for Ultra HD is for?

If you are on a legacy NetFlix package then it gives you Premium level of Netflix. (And of course UHD channels and downloads)
If you do change your package (or recontract) then the HD and UHD packs do not upgrade NetFlix. You have to purchase separate 'boosts' to remove Ads and upgrade to standard/premium.
It is confusing and could be a whole lot clearer...

Re: Trying to understand my bill
Isn't UHD an upgrade to a HD tv. I'm reasonably certain that my tv is HD enabled, not UHD

Yes. If your TV supports it then you can change from 1080P to 2160P in the display settings.
If you don't have a UHD TV (4K) then there may be little point in having the sub.
But... it potentially unlocks 4 concurrent NetFlix streams. If you don't do this then you almost certainly don't need it. (But it you remove it then you may lose the legacy benefit and will revert to NetFlix with Ads and would have to add a boost to remove them)

It's not straightfoward... You'll need to call Sky to remove UHD - and confirm what impact this has on NetFlix if you do.
