Had the obvious email stating they are increasing the price (as they all do), now if I've read the email and contract right, I'm sure I can change without early termination fee (contract runs to September).
Email :- We hope you’ll continue to enjoy our services, but if you’re not happy with these changes, you can cancel your Sky Broadband and/or Talk service(s). Information on the changes and how to cancel can be found at sky.com/changes.
Contract :- 10. How long your Contract lasts
You can end this Contract without incurring early termination charges during your Minimum
Term if:
(i) Condition 6(c), 6(e), 9(b), 10(b) or 10(e) applies;
(ii) we increase your Sky Broadband Payment, unless such increase arises under Condition 5(c);
(5C) (c) We may also increase your Sky Broadband Payment if required by law or if any regulatory authority
requests or requires a change to any aspect of our pricing, including to reflect a change in the
rate of VAT or other applicable taxation charge or levy, which affects your Sky Broadband
Payment directly or our pricing structure generally. We will use our reasonable endeavours to
notify you before any price increase takes effect under this Condition 5(c). Your Sky Broadband
Payment will also change if you are permitted to change Products.
I'm just checking I've got it right, as it's impossible to get hold of anyone from sky at the moment.

I managed to get through to sky in the end, and they confirmed I can exit my broadband contract without early termination fee.

Mine states…
If you’re within your minimum contract period, call us within 30 days of getting this email to avoid early termination charges. Unless you tell us otherwise, your Sky subscription will continue as normal.
It only applies to broadband and NOT a TV subscription.

I rang [Removed], but ended up selecting the text option. This worked out better as they were pretty quick to reply and I now have it on text as well.
I've changed now but they sent me a bill for £45 early termination, but this could change. I move to virgin on saturday, so I'll see what happens with the next batch of emails.

I am in a similar position regarding broadband cancellation within contract. I had the email saying i can cancel if I ring within 30 days, as per above.
I've only had Sky BB for four months. During that time, it sometimes loses all connectivity intermittently for five or thirty minutes. I do speed tests using the My Sky app and it is more often than not below the guaranteed minimum. I have called 150 about that twice. The first agent put me on the watch list. After over 30 days of not hearing anything and still my test speedss being low, I called again. That second agent couldn't be less helpful and basically said if it goes over the low limit now and again then what was the fuss? So I am not enthralled by the service I am getting. Terminating the contract without penalty is appealing.
OK, so here is the point of the post.
I rang 150 and spoke to someone who tried diverting me to the engineers but no thanks, they've had a chance. Then she said yes I may cancel without penalty BUT it has to cancel right there and then. Which seems daft as I have to arrange the switch for BB and landline. Whaitis the procedure I need to take to get back to a decent BB provider?

Surely using One Touch Switch (i.e. signing up with a new provider who will give notice to Sky at changeover) would suffice?
Instant cancellation sounds vindictive to me.

After the text conversation I just went and signed upto virgin and they done the changeover.
I got the standard email from sky quoting earlier termination fee (estimate), but nothing has been added to my bill.
Nothing i've seen in the contract or email says you have to do the cancellation.

That's encouraging, thanks. I'm sure that if Sky try to charge a cancellation fee it would be a case for OFCOM but I prefer not to get into complaints if possible.

I rang sky and they told me no early termination fee. I've swapped to Gigaclear so we will see.
