TV contract ended . Better deal ?
My current contract has just ended . Sky Q, Ultimate TV, Kids . Offer is £65 per month
New customer offer Essential TV, Sky Spprts (dont really want) , TNT Sport (really want for cycling) is £55
Can I switch to this without going through the whole cancellation and starting again ?

Re: TV contract ended . Better deal ?
@markbike No you can't and you won't qualify for it either by cancelling as you have to be away from sky for 18 months before sky see you as a new customer any earlier you will be seen as a returning customer
note sky are also wise to the trick of signing up under a different first name with the same surname at the same address and will block any attempt to do so

Thanks
Fair enough on the new customer trick. I guess if they really do want me to stay a customer after 19 years, then the deal should be as good as a new customer, given there are lots of alternatives nowadays . I'll give them a call

@markbike give VirginMedia try if it's an option, they have some decent joining deals.

@markbike You benefitted from a new customer offer 19 year's ago expecting anywhere near the same now as an existing customer is unrealistic
so the choice is to try and negotiate a price you can realistically afford without expecting to much of a discount or vote with your feet and switch to a different provider where you will find yourself in the same position in 18/24 months time

This I think is a sign of the times we are living in, if people can benefit from cheaper prices for 18 months, many will swap and switch about. It's not something I'm happy about doing, but in the current climate, it's like other household bills (insurance for one) there's very little or no loyalty for staying.
