T
I received a call purporting to be from Sky this morning saying I'd been selected to receive a 40% discount on my bills from next month - they asked for email which I gave them but then got suspicious so ended the call. The email they sent confirms the discount but I'm still suspicious. Can you validate?

Re: T
@KAT115 It's a scam call wanting to obtain your details so they can access you account and order high priced items. Sky would never call with such huge offers. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover
Did you give them any account details?
As a precaution I would change your account password to ensure no one can access and keep an eye out for any phone orders

Re: T
Not sure why you've done a meaningless one letter thread title?
The scammer try to obtain sufficient information to be able to order expensive mobile devices under your name which Sky innocently deliver to you.
The scammers would then recontact you (again claiming to be Sky) saying they have made a mistake and for you to send it to a (non Sky) address. If you did that they then have the device and you have the bill.
They are very cunning. They may send packaging to post the item (to them) or might even send a 'courier' to collect it.
See this link

With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam call.

If that was an actual call from Sky they would ask for your telephone password so if you are unsure give them a wrong one as Sky should tell you that you have given the wrong one as a scammer will not know what it is.
Scammers are well known to make calls offering 30/40% offers which is another sign that the call isn't from Sky as they do not make sure calls.
Did you only give them your email address and no other information that they asked for ?
