Switching from Virgin

I've just been set up with my Sky WiFi today. That is my TV and wifi all done. I was told by Sky that using OTS my broadband and landline with Virgin will be cancelled but I'd have to do the TV separately. I contacted VM and they say the OTS covers all of it. Can anyone clarify this as I don't want to be stung by VM.

What Virgin told you is incorrect as only the Broadband and Talk are switched via the OTS service as TV is not covered by this so you will need to cancel this separately with Virgin,

Re: Switching from Virgin

This is what I thought, but they are adamant and won't take notice on TV as "it's not required". I'll just tell them I will cancel my direct debit in that case to protect myself.

I'd suggest not doing that, as it may only result in unpaid bills and ultimately debt recovery action. I'd be inclined to call again and speak to someone else, or give notice in writing, or raise a formal complaint

@EdisonCrow

You might want to let them know what OFCOM say about this:

Re: Switching from Virgin

You'd I'm onto my 3rd person saying the same thing at VM, nightmare. Add in that the team here at Sky are confused - it seems if you have Sky Q OTS covers you, but not on Stream, though not all agents know this.

@EdisonCrow  I've just checked the information superusers have access to via a closed forum

and based on the information I've seen tv services aren't covered so I think sky are correct in that it doesn't cover tv services only broadband

@caesarome @Mark39 the thread to check is "one touch switch for broadband "

I suspect the lack of clarity is because OTS covers broadband and definitely not subscription television, but with Virgin (and EE) their own flavours of subscription television are only available over their own broadband service, which isn't the case with Sky.

Re: Switching to virgin from sky

Bit of advice if you move,be a bouncer and move bk to Sky or alternative when the contract ends.  Then keep bouncing from one to another.  Stay loyal and you'll get treated like something you scrape off your shoe!  Trust me, if you become a lifer they think you won't move [removed].  This year I've finally called their bluff and leaving.

It's not secret that it's harder to attract new customers than to retain them.
