@Terrible+Support

Incorrect. It's genuine. Confirmed by staff on here. You have been sent it because Sky have been unable to apply a credit that was/is on your Sky account. I presume you've cancelled your payment method. As long as you're still at the same address call Sky on the number on the email and they can get a cheque raised.

It is NOT a scam, the email in the 1st post is genuine, the emails are sent from Sky and it has been confirmed by Sky themselves, whoever you spoke to is wrong or seriously needs some retraining.

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

I am sorry, but I called Sky and they confirmed there is no credit on my closed account and that it is a scam. We checked very carefully, they claim to have no record of sending the email.  I asked several times with the same answer from two different support lines.

@Terrible+Support I repeat the email in post 1 is genuine, Sky staff on this very community have confirmed the email is genuine.

Have you looked at post one?  Is it the same email?  If so it IS genuine.

Again whoever you spoke to is wrong twice!

A scam email won't ask you to call a freephone number.

A scam email will always get you to click links to websites outside of Sky.

A scam email will not address you by name but as Dear customer/Dear user etc.

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

It is exactly the same, apart from the name and amount.

So do I believe you, or do I believe the Sky support team> It seems sky support are providing inconsistent information. That would not be a first. Why do they make it so difficult ?

I will wait for a follow up and contact their fraud department as I would hope at least they are on the ball.

@Terrible+Support  Yep, it's the same one as the OP, so is genuine.

Of course it's troubling that CSA's still seem to be unaware of this email

Re: Refund email from Sky.. is it a scam?

I got 2 emails with 2 different amounts and called Sky and they said it was legit ... shocked as it's from 2023 they said.

@DeltaC

Presumably you cancelled your payment method early on so Sky couldn't reimburse you. Since then have you moved address?

Re: Refund email from Sky.. is it a scam?

I was about to move into a new house , got Sky TV and Broadband and then realised that the signal was so poor and cancelled my subscription...don't know what happened with refunds etc ... from the blue yesterday... got one email , got another today ... it's not shed loads of money but will by me a drink or two ... 🤣🤣

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

Like others I too received this email recently. It addresses me by name and is the 0808

number.

What confuses me most is that I'm still with sky,I'm still paying for an active subscription so what gives‽

I sent the email on to the sky abuse team asking if it was a scam and no reply.

Its £101 so would be very nice if it was true, but it's also too good to be true so my scam sensors are going, especially as I'm a current customer, they have my bloody bank details!
