Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

Is the below legit? The email came from Sky  - I called the number and it's automated, asking for my Sky account numberScreenshot 2025-07-10 at 11.47.02.png

@OllieSlee  Have you previously had a sky account that you have sinced close?

if you have then it's possible it's genuine as sky do occasionally do this to return credit owed

if you login to your sky account (don't login from any link within email) do you see a credit on it for the corresponding amount

@OllieSlee

I agree with @SKY1992bf especially as the email addresses you by your forename not "Dear customer ".

@OllieSlee  I've raised this to Sky via the closed community to see if we can get clarification on this.

@OllieSlee

As stated above the way to check this is if you can see if you have a credit showing here:

https://www.sky.com/bill/tv-broadband-talk

If you do then this email is legit.

Sky bonified telephone number

Is this a bonified sky telephone number [removed]. As Sky say I should call this number as I have a credit they wish to pay. Or is it a Scam!

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

Thanks everyone - resolved.

We used to have broadband with Sky but haven't for over 2 years but do have TV with them. Turns out broadband and tv are billed to do different accounts under your one username/email address, so I had two account numbers without realising. The email was legit as the credit was outstanding from when I cancelled broadband two years ago, however I should have been refunded before now but the system only just picked it up.
