Sky offers a deal only when I cancel

I have been with Sky for 13 years but when the cost per month shot up to £47 I called up to cancel. Imagine my surprise when an email today told me they could do a deal for just £26 per month! Why don't they just look after their customers in the first place?

@SarniaGirl  Sky aren't obligated to offer you anything customers have to be prepared to go through with cancellation as that seems to be the way to get the best deals

It is the way they do things, it isn't clear from your post if you are a customer or not because if you are not they do send out "come back to Sky" offers.

Did you speak to Sky before you cancelled? I'm sure That's what you would have done over the years, surely?  I suppose from a commercial point of view it's not in Sky's interests to offer you a cheap deal if they don't need to

Also be careful  what you are comparing: £26 is (for example) the current new customer list price for the Sky Stream minimum bundle without any add-ons for an 18-month minimum term.

Thanks all! Yes am or was a customer. I know they are not obliged to do anything. Just slightly grinds my gears but hey ho - I can certainly live without Sky.
