@Baks1

When did you leave Sky as billing continues right up to the day you leave so by cancelling your direct debit not only can any bill not be paid (if you are still with them) no refund can be issued via it for any credit that might be left on your account once you have left.

Re: Sky bill

I left a few days after my bill come out , I've moved to Virgin so everything was done very swiftly.

If you have used One Touch Switch then that only covers broadband.  If you had Sky TV and did not cancel directly with Sky then you still have Sky TV.

Re: Sky bill

I was told by Virgin when I left for them they would make sure everything was cancelled, that's the only reason I've cancelled my direct debit 😞

Sadly Virgin has misinformed you because as stated above they can not cancel a TV package. You are not the first and will not be last to be caught out by this as it does seem to be a common issue across all companies where customers are wrongly informed.

Re: Sky bill

Ahhh bloody hell , I'm still in my 14 day cooling off period so I'll be contacting Virgin and if something doesn't get rectified I'll be leaving them , so when I do cancel my sky I can then cancel any direct debits, thanks for your messages, .

You should only cancel the DD after any overpayment is returned to you.  If you cancel it earlier then they have to issue a cheque and this takes longer...

That's normal. But only in relation to the services actually cancelled - so broadband/phone, in your case.
