Please can someone help and make this easy.
My Dad sadly passed away a few weeks ago, he was the main account holder. I have helped my Mum transfer to take control of the bills but Sky has been a complete nightmare. I have a rang and thought that my problem was being solved but then when I have tried to click to create a Sky id, my Mum already has a Sky email but doesn't know the password or memorable date.
We were told this morning that she would need to create a new email account to set up Sky id which is distressing for her due to the bereavement and age. She is not good with technology and it seems an absolute faff when someone is grieving. So for now she is logged in under my Dads id for Netflix - after having to log into his emails to have the password reset.
Someone please tell me that there is a painless way to solve this?
I am at the point of cancelling everything - she only watches terrestrial tv and Netflix and this is an utter stress she does not need.
Since making a phone call last night she has had over 12 emails, she doesn't even know which one is current.

Have you spoken to the specialist team at Sky with regards to reporting the passing of your Dad as they might then be able to help you with this.

Hi, and thank you. Yes I have spoken to Sky and told them my Dad has passed. That bit went smoothly but it's the transfer of names/sky id that hasn't.
My mum has been sent so many Sky emails all with my dads sky id name.
I rang this morning and my Dads sky id has now been removed and my Mum has to create one.
When trying to create a Sky id it won't let her use her Sky.com email as it is asking for a password. She can't remember the password and when I've clicked for a reminder the email doesn't come through.
The not so helpful advice I got is that she needs to make another email account to create a sky id - which just doesn't make sense.
As part of her package she has Netflix but she is unable to sign in as she doesn't know the password, so I have to sign in under my Dads email and have the password resent to his email account so we could change it.
I have given up and will just wait and see what happens next month to her bill/sky package.
What I will say is that my Dad died unexpectedly so I have had to ring a lot of companies to deal with name changes on the bills, and Sky has been the most complicated and stressful company out of all of them.

Well it seems that Sky is cancelling my Mums package as she has received a text from Sky to say they are sending out pre paid packaging for her to return the equipment.
Not quite sure what has happened as it hasn't been cancelled. I wonder if the pre paid packaging will be in my late dads name - it really wouldn't surprise me.
I suppose that solves the issue of creating a sky id
