I did not think you could cancel tv service on line. You have so speak to Sky  customer agent to cancel that.

Re: Sky Cancellation Scam - Continued Billing

That would be even worse. I was not given any indication that Sky TV had to be a separate cancellation, otherwise I would have cancelled straight away, as I no longer wanted this service.

Currently there's no 'online' way to cancel TV - but you can do it via the chat service.  (I've done it)

Re: Sky Cancellation Scam - Continued Billing

Online, offline, via chat... it doesn't matter. The fact is, when I cancelled my services, I wasn't given any indication that my Sky TV subscription was a separate cancellation process. Otherwise, I would've cancelled there and then, as I had now use for it at all.

When I asked to cancel my services from Sky, I meant just that: I wanted to cancel my services from Sky.

Of course it matters as that may leave a "paper" trail. That said, your first paragraph there makes it sound like you didn't ask for the TV package to be cancelled.

Wait for the result of the complaint I guess.

Hi @ArrGee   Unfortunately the community cannot help you. Apologises, I haven't read the entire thread but have you raised a formal complaint in writing? https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

Re: Sky Cancellation Scam - Continued Billing

I get what you say about a paper trail. But nowadays, there's also a software trail. If I had been using Sky TV services, there would have been a regular ping-back, providing details for software updates, current usage for ad. stats, etc.

As I had no box plugged in, the ping-backs would clearly show that the service had not been used.

I've sent off the complaint, and I've stated that I expect a reply within 14 days, so we'll just have to see.

Hi, I'm not asking for help, but I do appreciate the input.

I want to know if anyone else has been caught up in such a situation. So far, I have not had such a response, but it's still far too early.

Re: Sky Cancellation Scam - Continued Billing

And yes, I have raised a formal complaint. In the complaint I stated that I expect a reply within 14 days, which I think is fairly reasonable.
