I have just had a call from 01299 5183** stating they are from sky offering me 40% off my current package. I could tell it was a scam call as he was rude when I said I would call sky directly. Having called Sky they have confirmed it was a scam. Please be careful if you are getting such calls.

As you answered the scammers call they will probably keep making calls and each time will probably show a different number so should any get through, do not talk to them at all and just hang up if you do answer them.
Apart from your email address, did you give them any other information, if not I would change your account password:

Re: Scam call recieved today
These scam calls are designed to capture your account information so they can order devices from it that you will be paying for as per this:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover
If you gave them no details then with regards to this you should have no issues.

Re: Scam call recieved today
With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it will be a scam call.

Re: Scam call recieved today
I had one these calls last week, to be honest it probably was legit as it came up as Sky on my mobile, but 95% of the calls I get on my mobile are spam these days so I tend not to trust anything.

Re: Scam call recieved today
Over the last week. I have received numerous calls from 01 299 51. all saying suspected scam. I did speak to someone yesterday who claimed to be from Sky Promotions offering up to 40% off and I would be paying £65 a month forever. I told her I'm currently 10 months into a 24 Sky contract. She said it doesn't matter. Unfortunately surly I did give her my email address which she claimed to send me 3 emails which I haven't had (not in Junk either). I didn't have time to talk so she said she'd call back. In the meantime, I read this on the community page this morning and when she called today, I said I don't believe it's Sky and to stop calling. Now I've received three calls on different Mobile numbers all claiming to be from Sky. Blocking each one as I go.

See post 3 above.
Also, if an offer seems too good to be true ~ it generally isn't.

Re: Scam call recieved today
I knew almost straight away it was a scam as they offered me 40% off my current deal. They asked for some details, which I did not provide. As soon as I said I would call sky back directly from a different phone to a trusted number, his voice raised and he said "well whatever then" and put the phone down. Number is now blocked.
