Renewal offer April increase

Hi

I have been on the phone to Sky today to discuss a renewal deal for the second time in two weeks, speaking to the cancellations/retentions department.

As a customer of 12 years, I am really not happy with the ridiculous price increases and wanted to see what they could offer before going elsewhere.

The deal today was £1 more than my last call, but that isn't the issue. Last time I was guaranteed that was a fixed price, and would not be going up on 1st April. After nearly 50 minutes on the phone today, I was told that there was no way they could guarantee that, and my price would likely increase on the 1st April. They couldn't even tell me by how much.

Is there really no grace period for renewals? We are trying to reduce our outgoings. Why on earth would I agree to a deal for which I have no idea what the price will be in a few weeks time?

There seems to be no way of getting in touch with anyone at Sky other than these painful phone calls these days or their interminable chat service. I was hoping to actually be able to get hold of someone through this but I know this is just customers so any advice welcome.

Thank you

Re: Renewal offer April increase

I phoned Sky end of last month to cancel some items due due the April price increase which they did. At the same time the advisor told me ske ruduce the rest of my package by further £10 which involves a new 2 year contract as I was only a month into earlier 2year contract I  agreed.  Then looking at my future bills   I noticed that my April increase had now been changed and would now start in may, this I believe is because I was now in a new contract they could not increase the price for 60days  from the start of that. Therefore if you negotiate a new contract you price increase will not stat till 60 days from when it starts. This will probably not be depending on billing date may June.

I should also add the increase when they do happen will be the same as what in you increase notification for the items still in your package there if do negotiate a new deal with info  you should know how much you increase is going to and from when

Re: Renewal offer April increase

One final pint I should have mentioned when negotiating  my deal the advisor told me total amount of my contract after April price increase had been implemented. In other words what total amount of monthly payments would be till the increase next year.

Re: Renewal offer April increase

Thank you. Nice idea, but the chat was useless. Didn't take the time to read my comments properly and told me they would tell me what my current contract would increase to. I already know that, which is why I was trying to get a new deal. Just more trying to direct me to people to discuss offers. I spent an hour yesterday doing this. Why would the outcome be any different today?

Re: Renewal offer April increase

This forum seems to have so many glitches for me so sorry for the double post. I was trying to reply to the Sky employee.

Thank you to all who replied. Apparently there is no grace period, so you can get an offer now, but it can be increased in a few weeks. Awful!

Re: Renewal offer April increase

I am not sure what method you are using to contact Sky but in the last 3 months I have contacted Sky about3 times using there general  customers service phone number  to make changes to my package twice,  the call has involved negotiating a new minimum terms  to part  of my package. Looking at my phones  call log for these the  calls maximum time a call has taken is 22minuites for one the others are far less 17 min and 7 min. Each time I had to negotiate the aumotive robot system to speak to a human advisor,  which each case was I got though quite quickly  ( only a minute or two waiting time) and each time my business was dealt with quit quirky and professionaly even the going though the changes to my package. The time of these calls was during the  late Morning and mid afternoon
