Reinstate

I have paid my bills this morning and it still won't let me reinstate my account. Keeps saying I have next month's bill to pay which is not due until the 16th

If your payment is two or more weeks overdue you will have to pay the next bill as well. If you’re in arrears for 56 days or more Sky can fully terminate your subscription. Any calls to Sky will only prompt you to make a payment.

Sky don't allow payment plans on overdue live accounts, nor will they consider promises to pay on or by a certain date.

Once your full payment has cleared and is in Sky’s account your services should be reinstated, but this may not be instant. (Any payment you make over a weekend or on a Bank Holiday won’t be processed until the following week).

Thats sounds about right as the payment from last month is more than 2 weeks late so now you're being asked to pay next months as the Direct Debit won't be reinstated in time for the due date.

Re: Reinstate

How can they do that when it's not due yet! That's ridiculous. I'm just gunna cancel it altogether because I'm not paying for a service that I haven't got. How many people can afford to pay 2 months in one go

You cannot cancel if in debt.

The contract requires you to pay on time.

@Jodie89Kaycie16

Bills are generated 14 days before the payment date, so in your case, the 2nd. You won't be able to cancel whilst in arrears and may not be able to cancel at all if you're in a minimum term deal.

I'm not in debt. My bill is due on the 16th. Can you give me the right number to call that bypasses the automated number because I can't get to speak to a human

@Jodie89Kaycie16  there is no way to bypass the system the rules are in place for everyone , you wouldn't be in this position if you had paid on time which is your contractual obligation to do so

You don't seem to be understanding what has been posted here.

You were in debt so because you paid the bill late and because our bills are created 14 days earlier the next one on the 16th can not be taken from you which is why you have to pay it. As advised above none of this would have happened if the bill had been paid on time.

@Jodie89Kaycie16

We can only repeat…

If your payment is two or more weeks overdue you will have to pay the next bill as well.

Thats why you're seeing that message. Be aware as well that

If you're in arrears for 56 days or more Sky can (and do) fully terminate your subscription (but you'd still owe what was due) .

@Jodie89Kaycie16  Sky don't keep a secret number that bypasses the Automation as that would defeat the object of having one.

The advice provided by other posters is correct.   As your bill is due on the 16th and as you've only just paid the last months bill this months will also be due for the reasons I outlined, also if you have a balacne owing or you're in a discounted period you won't be able to cancel.

When your last payment clears and you pay the next bill you'll be able to speak to someone.

You may be able to bypass the automated system but you have to ensure the system does not recognise who you are (as it will just ask for payment).  Try calling from a different number or use the withhold prefix (141).
