Reduce my broadband bill

I have been with sky a long time and ana VIP customer.

my broadband is now £49 a month and when I look at competitor sites I can get broadband at similar speed for £22 a month. I would prefer to stay with Sky but am looking for a reduction.

@Ruby113

Almost all customers are classed as VIP customers. What you are seeing is other providers new customer offers.

If your discounted minimum term has ended or its ending soon the best new discounts are still normally acquired by contacting Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will require a new 24 month minimum term contract.

’Significant’ discounts seem harder to come by these days so if you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer is unlikely to be available when you call back. Also remember you’re not a new Sky customer so don’t expect anything on a par to a new customer deal.

See this link…

If you decide it’s no longer value for money and you’re thinking of changing providers remember that at the end of their minimum term you'll be in the same position with that company at which point you'll be able to return to Sky and benefit from the new customer discounts available at that particular time.

Re: Reduce my broadband bill

I believe it's extortionate 49 for broadband and sky talk. I dont even have a  house phone so where this benefit here. Its a considerable jump from 39. There is no loyalty for long standing customers.

So long as you're on the Pay As You Talk tariff (call Sky if you aren't), and you make no calls then you don't incur any landline phone charges.

I wounder what competitor site you have found cheaper price.

I am with BT for my broadband and pay £84 a month and  if I  look at what like a simalar package for new customers the web site shows a price of £28, however what the web site shows is in fact a totally different subscription package to what I am getting as exsisting customer.

In fact one of the points BT stated when I took up my latest contract that package I have got would be no dearer than what a new customer would pay.
In fact my package is not actually vavailable on the BT web site itv is usualy only available to exsisting customers, but if a new customer dose want it, they have phone BT and request it and will be at the same price to a new customer as whatcI am paying £84 a month.

What the web site shows for new customers is just the very basic package, yes the broadband speed and the fact is part fiber is exscactly the same. But my contract includes extras that is not available to new customers. For instance if my broadband goes down my hub automatically connects to the EE 4g network for the length of the outage and then reconnects to  the normal broaband when that returns, so I am never without broadband what ever the circumstances. If new customer what's that on there cheap basic deal it another £10 a month. Another extra is I am assured 100% wfifi covage in the whole of my property, if there is any week spots BT will supply up to to 2 broadband extenders at no extra cost to ensure I these week spots are covered. Again the new customer what' on there cheap package is charged a futher £10 amonth for each extender required. Futher  extras included is a bt engineer will visit my property one a year to insure my broadband connection is fully working correctly this service is not available without cost to new customer cheap deals. I am also asured that if I need to speak to BT agent I will automatically be put though to someone in the uk, unlike new customers on cheap deals being put though to call centre in India.

Though I understand Sky don't have many of these extras for exsisting customer that BT have, but also what you think is an equivalent broadband package for new customers either on Sky or any other provider when you look of what that new customer deal might look like what you have and paying a high price for, in reality might not actually be the some as what you have actually  got.
