I'm looking to get Sky Ultrafast Broadband installed.
I'm currently with Virgin Media who have been nothing but a nightmare!
The house already has a fibre to the property connection installation from the past and there is currently no active service on it.
When I looked at Plusnet's offering they could activate the service in 3 working days
I want to get the service installed after my next pay day which is the 23rd of the month
But I'm not sure how long Sky would take as theres no existing connection and going on what Plusnet's site has said.
I'm assuming that billing starts from the date the service is activated and not the date that the order is placed - I.e if I order today and activation is the 30th August then billing starts on the 30th August
Is it worth waiting til the 20th to do an order in case Sky does it in a similar time frame to to Plusnet or will be be safe to order today or tomorrow in case it takes longer to get an install.
Sorry for the questions, I just hope it makes sense...last thing I want is order today and get an activation date of the 22nd lol
Thankyou to anyone that answers 🙂

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe billing starts from the date the service is activated and nobody here will be able to guess when that is likely to be, if you are not happy with the billing date then once your first two bills have been paid you can then change it although doing so will see that bill being different, possibly higher than usual as it will then cover a longer date range but going forward the next bills should be at the usual amount.
When you do or don't place the order isn't gong to have any affect on the billing date as this will start from whenever it is activated.
