Postal Complaints

I'm very unhappy about the service that I'm receiving from Sky that by next week, I will be leaving and looking else where for my tv service.

im been will Sky for nearly 30 years, but no one is helping me with my faulty boxes. I did write to them and I'm still being ignored 😡

the address I wrote to was: Customer Complaints, Sky Subscriber Services Ltd, PO Box 43, Livingston, EH54 7DD.

To cut a long story short:

- I have two Sky plus he boxes.

- No home internet (just mobile internet with giffgaff)

- An engeineer came out to install Sky Q in April.

- Couldn't install it as I had no internet.

- was told that I don't need insurance to install Sky Q.

- NO BODY HAS CONTACTED ME SINCE APRIL!

- Wrote a letter of complaint.

- Nobody has acknowledged my letter.

- Next week. Will be looking else where for my TV package.

Can anyone confirm that postal letters are still being received my Sky and how do they respond??

Thank you kindly

Paul.

Have you tried ringing sky customer services. To get though the automated system just answer the questions but take no notice of the answer, it my suggest send in a tex, just ignore that. The final question  be is that all or words to that effect. After asking if you are the Sky account holder and possibly your telephone password , you will be though to a human Sky agent, who I sure will help you with your problems a lot quicker than writing.

In answer to your question about needing the internet for SkyQ , no for basic tv channels you do not need internet as it get signal from the dish on the outside of your property, but for on demand, tv guide,  and the apps you do .Also the possible reason the Sky engineer could not install, the Sky Q box  is probably because you need Internet these days, to initiate a call back to activate and pair you Sky card. Your old Sky HD + boxes had a socket to connect to your telephone so the card could activated that way, but Sky Q box dose not have this socket and therefore relies on the internet for callback.

Re: Postal Complaints

Silly question but any reason why you just won't give them a call?

Never understand all this email address and postal address nonsense from people

Re: Postal Complaints

Your complaint is very specific and rather unique, id certainly recommend you call Sky csutoemr services direct and see if you can resolve the issue to your satisfaction.

Re: Postal Complaints

If I ring them, they will simple apologise, take no notice of my complaint and upsell one of their products so that they agent gets a percentage of what they have just sold to me....... that's why I won't ring them.

i simple want my complaint to be acknowledged and not have a selling pitch put to me.

@Janes76 I imagine an apology would be appropriate? I don't doubt they would sort out the installation issue.

They may try to upsell, but that's easy enough to politely decline.

From what have put your Sky+HD boxes are faulty, you had Sky engineer come in April but could not Install. Therefore since then you have not had a workable box to receive Sky so in Therefore for the last four month since engineers visit by what you have in you post have in affect had no Sky TV service yet though you have continued to complain by letter which by you own admission  by the look of it  had no effect, but  you have kept up your subscription and payments to Sky for a service you no longer have.

Why only now are you just considering cancelling as if that was me with the lack of service I would cancel my service a long time ago, infact soon after the engineer told me he could not install a service.
I should add I think you should contact Sky by phone if you make it quite clear politely  that you have no interest in any thing they might want to sell and just ask for immediate cancellation of your service, though 30 days notice period is normally required, I would think if you explain your circumstances that with respect to the outdated equipment and you were told by engineer in April in your circumstances a alternative service can be installed and you there for had no service since his visit, it possible they waver the notice period.

I should say with respect to get an alternative tv provider, with most providers these days there service is a streaming service and a internet service would be required to have there service.

The only other alternative is purchase a Freesat box, would you could connect to your existing Sky dish, and providing the LNB on the dish is still functioning you will then have access to various free tv channels without having to ing to pay any subscription.
