Paying too much

I am paying too much I don't have extra apps and I don't need extra app . I just require the basic broad band and normal TV with Netflix . I should be paying £35 per month for broadband and a max of £25 for TV . As I don't need or want extras on sky TV and just the basic . Please reduce my monthly bill, or I will cancel the broadband and TV with sky and just go elsewhere. I have been a loyal customer for a very long time.

i am currently awaiting for a new sky box as mine is damaged. Please let me know once you have adjusted my bill and please get this done immediately. Thank you

@Maria179  You're not contacting Sky customer services by posting here, no one knows who you are or your contact details.

Nothing can or will happen on the back of a community post. Threats to cancel will have zero effect.

If you wish to discuss any discounts you need to call Sky.

Re: Paying too much

@Maria179 you'll have to bite the bullet and call Sky to negotiate a contract, it cannot be done through this forum.

What "TV Box" do you have and what package do you think you should be getting for £25?

Loyalty means nothing these days, you need to haggle or vote with your feet, threatening to leave doesn't cut it.

Hi @Maria179   Either way, to negotiate a new price or to cancel you stil have to contact Sky.

@Maria179

Threats to leave and demanding immediate action is pointless here. This is a customer ▶️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other customers. You haven’t actually contacted Sky by posting on here.

We can’t see your bills but the usual reason for a bill increase, other than the usual annual price increase in April, is that your discounts have ended.

Perhaps compare the latest bill with previous ones to see where it differs.

If your discounted minimum term has ended or its ending soon the best new discounts are still normally acquired by contacting Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will require a new 24 month minimum term contract.

’Significant’ discounts seem harder to come by these days so if you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer is unlikely to be available when you call back. Also remember you’re not a new Sky customer so don’t expect anything close to a new customer deal.

See this link…
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/change-your-package-2-t2#downgrade

If you decide it’s no longer value for money and you’re thinking of changing providers remember that at the end of their minimum term you'll be in the same position with that company at which point you'll be able to return to Sky and benefit from the new customer discounts available at that particular time.

I am not sure what tv pachage you have but the present entertainment package for Sky satellite tv Which is Sky Q box these days  ( you may have a okder box that no longer supported by Sky) is called signature and is  £42 a month without discount. This is basic tv package these day, and is the minimum  tv package offered thes days if you were paying only £25 you were probably on a older package like entertainment which no longer available for new contracts. If you were on a older package you may also have  been on discount price on minimum term which has now probly ended.  This means you are now paying the full price for this and what with annual price increases is the reason your monthly cost has increased. The same gose for broadband this is also subject to annual price increase and any discount you may have had with that has probably also finished. You may wish to contact Sky and negotiate a new deal,  however  if you are on a older  entertainment package I am no sure if new deal can be done these, as they are no longer sold, so the only option would be signature may be with discount but would probably be a lot more tha £25 you used to pay.

She doesn't say she was paying £25 for TV, that's just her valuation (as is the £35 for BB). That said I renegotiated due to the recent price rises and have Signature for £21.50 with £5 for HD and another £5.50 for Netflix. I've just rejoined their BB and have 500Mbps for £25 albeit as a "new " customer. So it's certainly acheivable.

Comcast Corporation stockholders might disagree.

The lowest cost Sky-branded television would be Essential TV on Stream: they aren't particularly motivated to offer low pricing on the end-of-life satellite platform.

A significant part of the cost of broadband is the payment the ISP makes to the network provider for the wholesale circuit, and they'd really prefer to make some profit on top.
