Paid twice

Hi, I made a payment manually last Friday but Sky are continuously trying to take a payment out of my account daily when there is no direct debit set up.

The T's and C's state you should have a direct debit or continuous card payment method set up meaning you don’t need to make a manual payment unless your services have been restricted. Sky will attempt payment from any details they have on record.

I would suggest NOT making any manual payments unless requested to by Sky.

Sky should only try to take the payment on or near your billing date and if that falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a bank holiday then that would usually take it on the next working day.

  • If there is no direct debit set up how do Sky know your bank details?  If you gave Sky you bank details Sky would set up direct debit mandate with your bank  but if there is  for some reason there is now no direct debit is set up with you bank,  your bank will decline the payments from your account. If you made a manual payment without a instruction from Sky to do so,it will be put as a credit on your next bill, not as payment on this one. Sky will  still try and take direct debit payment, if payment fails Sky will try again 10days later  if that fails  Sky will probably restrict service until, payment is made and a new direct debit  or continuous
