Paid bill

Hi. I paid my bill on Monday like I do every 4 weeks when I get paid. The payment came out my bank Tuesday. When I made this payment. It popped up at skys end payment unsuccessful. I've rang them and they don't have the payment. This has never happened before. I'm. It paying it again. I had to get them to cancel the DD to stop them taken payment. I have proof I've paid it. But don't know what to let them see it. As the sky chat is **bleep**. They never have a person to chat to

That sounds like you've made an unnecessary manual payment. You might have done it successfully in the past but the T's and C's you agreed to state you should have a direct debit or continuous card payment method set up. You therefore never need to make a manual payment. The payment you did make may have gone onto the January bill.

If that's the case, once the planned payment that Sky are expecting has been processed a credit should appear on your Sky account for the amount you have overpaid. This should automatically be used to pay your next bill so on that bill date no/less money should be taken from your account. I would suggest NOT making any manual payments unless requested to by Sky.

Re: Paid bill

And I'm not make a second payment. I do not have money to pay again. It will get sorted. I just need to find a way of sending them the proof it's came out my bank.

@Zoe+Lund+larsen you have been lucky so far but it is not the besst way to pay regular bills the Direct Debit system has safeguards built-in. .

You can ask Sky to schedule your monthly direct debit to be taken each monthh a few days after you are paid. It is far safer and automatic. See https://www.sky.com/help/your-account/account-my-bills-and-payments/my-payments/change-my-payment-me...

Re: Paid bill

The only reason I pay by card is I got three a cash back card. So I get a little back each time I pay bills with the card

@Zoe+Lund+larsen

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of threads on here where making a manual payment has caused problems. I can see it might be slightly more difficult if you get paid 4 weekly rather than monthly but that's what has caused it.

Let Sky take the payment by the means they have on their system (either direct debit or continuous card payment).

Re: Paid bill

And if I was to let them take it again. Means the first payment is completely lost and I've paid it

@Zoe+Lund+larsen

In that case it's worth pointing out you may find your services getting restricted. That means they won’t reinstate them until you’ve paid what you owe and you’ve also set up a new continuous payment method.

If your payment becomes two weeks or more overdue you will have to pay the next bill as well and if you’re in arrears for 56+ days Sky can fully terminate your subscription (but you’ll still owe the arrears).

If this is part of a credit agreement purchase (mobile or Sky Glass for example) non payment can see the credit agreement cancelled at which point the full amount becomes due in one payment .

Restrictions of services are automatic and Skys agents can’t override the process, even if you’re told otherwise. Sky don't allow payment plans on overdue live accounts, nor will they consider promises to pay on or by a certain date.

@Zoe+Lund+larsen

Have you checked future bills to see if a credit is showing for the amount you paid on Monday?

I use a cashback credit card.  You can set up a recurring payment using a debit/credit card.  (As already noted making manual payments isn't 'recommended')

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
