Moving House

I have just informed Sky that I will be moving house. I have been able to upgrade my Broadband and was told that because I was moving house, I would be treated like a new customer (with new contract etc). On my phone there is an offer of 900mbs for £39, 24 month contract, I've just got a new contract of  24 months, 300mbs for £40?

I don't understand why I was not offered the 900mb offer?

Regards

Rob

I take it you called Sky to arrange the home move, if you did then did you ask them about this ?

Re: Moving House

Good Morning, thanks for the reply.

I rang on Wednesday last week to inform of the move and was only offered the £40, 24 month 300mb deal. I have only seen the £39 deal this morning?

Regards

@RLG59RD

You could try calling them again to see if they can change it for you as it has to be worth a try ?

Re: Moving House

When I called on Wednesday, the Sky pecialist did say that I would be treated as a new customer with moving house - new contract etc. So, with that being said, I presume that the £39 offer I could/should be able to get?

When you move home you do start a new broadband contract as it has to be cancelled at your previous address and then activated at your new home so I can't see why they wouldn't offer this to you so let us know how you get on.

Re: Moving House

The gigafast  broadband  900mps  is full fibre to the property, it may not be available  yet at your new property, you can check this by putting  the new post code in a sreach  engine

Re: Moving House

Good Evening,

Update - I contacted and messaged with a chap from Sky who said there was nothing that could be done to apply the offer I had be quoted without cancelling my order and delaying the installation of my services. I complaineed that this was ridiculous as nothing had been installed and nobody had actually attended at my house and there was over six days before anything was due to happen. He would not budge and I am stuck with the 300mb service for £40 instead of the Gigafast for £39!

This is completely  unfair, I'm supposed to be treated as a new customer? It would only be setting up at Gigafast at the exchange, the line would be the sameto the property?

Re: Moving House

That guy  just could not be bothered  by the sounds  of things, i know this was January  last year  but i originally  asked  for full fibre to the  property  to be fitted  at 500mps, as i was changing from normal  broadband  as full fibre  had become  available  in  my area, anyway  before it had been fitted  on the 17th of January  last year  i phoned  sky spoke  to someone  in the broadband  department  and got the order  changed  to gigafast  broadband so it should be able to  be done. Hope this helps you

Re: Moving House

Good Morning,

Thanks for the reply, is there anybody on here that could help with my dilema? Is there anybody with numbers, contacts, would really appreciate the help? I have been a Sky customer for nearly 40 years and feel I have been ripped off with this despite being a long standing customer?

Regards
