Move old cables

We have an old Telewest cable that comes into our house from the road. We need to move it to fix the garden wall. How do we know if this is also the phone line that comes into the house.  BT have said it's a Sky issue to check with Openreach but how do you actually speak to anyone?

@Nick213  If it's a Telewest cable (now Virgin media) Sky would never use that, nor are Openreach responsible for it for it's removal

They only use Openreach infrastructure.

It may be better to take photos of all the cables that enter the home and the points/external boxes where they enter to get a better understanding of which one belongs to Openreach.

Re: Move old cables

Thank you. I think it's an old Telewest cable that is no longer used. Unfortunately the photo I have taken won't upload to here. I can't just cut it off though to mend the wall. I wonder if Virgin Media would come and remove it? I have no idea where the openreach line comes into the house. We don't have any phone lines that are obvious!

@Nick213  Without seeing if there are any outside boxes that Openreach normally use for ground fed lines we can't advise, however as advised previously the Telewest cable isn't a Sky issue.

Who supplies your broadband?
