Missed Payment - refusal to remove from Credit File!
Its a long, boring and complicated story, but due to me changing my bank account (from barclays to monzo) and the date of a direct debit, I missed a direct debit....SADLY, a month later, I am trying to buy my first home!!
After 2 complaints, a number of very stressful conversations, Sky are telling me 'not their problem' and they won't remove the missed payment from my credit file.
Experian have said 'yes they can easily do it'
Anyone else had similar experience and any advice of what to do next, I've reached out to Dana Strong and Anna Cook, as this issue is literally ruining my credit file, but it seems they direct me to their general complaints team who cannot seem to help... Should I CUT MY LOSSES, or is there another way I can get Sky to help me?

Re: Missed Payment - refusal to remove from Credit File!
Regardless of the circumstances you missed a payment which Sky correctly reflected. I can understand why they won't remove it as from the little you've told us it was correctly applied.

@AMB6 No companies can remove entries unless they are their in error , which as you admit it's not

Re: Missed Payment - refusal to remove from Credit File!
All you can do is ask for an explanatory note to be added to the entry.
Experian will do that if you supply evidence (and probably pay them) but its nothing to do with Sky I'm afraid.
Note that you'll probably have to do this with all the credit reference companies & even then you're unlikely to get an "off the shelf" mortgage at advertised rates. Probably best to use a broker now.
I presume you're pursuing Barclays or Monzo for damages as one of them must have screwed up the direct debit?
