Hello I will be leaving sky due to how much I have to pay and not getting the best. I've been charged £50 this Month and I will be leaving by end of the week so not happy paying my full amount

@Harleys

As we've already said, billing continues throughout the notice period. After that refunds should normally take about six weeks from the last day of connection but posts on here suggest it's taking longer.

We used to escalate this to Sky on here via their Community Messaging Team but unfortunateky that process has been unavallable for some time and we don't know when it'll return.

If you don't want to wait you will need to contact Sky and speak to an agent by other means; either by calling, or initially through Sky Assistant or via social media, Providing your payment method is still active they should then be able to refund it in 3-5 WORKING days.

@Harleys

You are only telling other customers here.

If you are saying you have seen an increase n what you pay then this is probably due to a discount you had on your account that has ended so it is time to call Sky to see if they will offer you another discount and if they do it will be committing to a new contract.

@Harleys

Unless you cancelled a number of weeks ago that won't be happening. If Sky allow you to leave a TV subscription you need to give 31 days notice, and for broadband it's 14 days.

@Harleys

Billing continues through a notice period and as bills are generated 14 days prior to a payment date it's quite normal that another bill payment will be required. Of course any overpayment will be reimbursed to you. This can take up to 6 weeks from your last day of connection.

You'll need to contact Sky to get it sooner (once it's showing as a credit on your Sky account).

Hi @Harleys  So did you give your notice to leave 3 or 4 weeks ago? It sounds like your services are still live, which is the reason why you are being charged the full amount. The billing system doesn't know that your services stop in a weeks time. Only when you have finally left. The credit will be refunded.

You will have to pay the bill but you can then get any overpayment refunded when you have left sim it will be a case of you calling Sky and asking them to refund the credit for you.

@Harleys

As stated a few times here - we are customers here only.

When you have left and you see a credit on your account then you are free to contact Sky to request it be refunded.

You'll get it, eventually.

Once the billing system generates a credit then it is normally returned within 6 weeks.  You may wish to call and request it earlier once the credit is showing.

As stated many times, you are not contacting Sky here.

Re: Leaving sky due to bill

I would ring but no one actually answer the phone and I always get cut off, so how am I meant to talk to someone when they don't answer?

@Harleys

The lines are open but there might be a queue.

All calls will start automated (aka 'the bot') which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and sometimes saying nothing when asked the reason for the call helps being put in the queue for an agent.

You only paid yesterday - I doubt your account shows a credit yet?  Realistically the refund is unlikely this year.
