My first payment was made direct debit but then it said overdue so I paid manually

now it says I paid £122

then it said I still was overdue what is going on?

If you pay by direct debit and for whatever reason it wasn't taken Sky will try again 10 days later.

Is the payment you manually made now appear on your next bill as a credit ?

Yea it is now saying paid when I checked it again
