I cancelled my account online on 10th August (no contract to finish). Now it is October and im still being charged £87.50 for the out of contract price.
I was also told Sky would send a box for me to return the equipment, which hasn't happened.
You got your extra month of September out of me for the 1 month notice even though there was no contract. No more.

In case you aren’t aware we are mainly fellow customers on here trying to help other customers and you’re not contacting Sky Customer Services by posting on the forum.
It sounds like the method you used to cancel didn't work. Not receiving the returns packaging backs up that theory. Did you receive an email from Sky acknowledging the cancellation? If you didn't then you haven't cancelled.

I was online with a Sky agent for hours while they tried to convince me to stay. Eventually they accepted my cancellation, gave me the info about collecting the box and told me I had to pay 1 more month at a higher rate as I was out of contract.
That is cancelled.
If someone ' forgot ' to process it that's their fault and I can't afford to pay over £80 month for their mistake.

Uts very difficult trying to get a person involved. Virtual assistant sends me in circles.

If you’ve successfully cancelled Sky should send out returns packaging near the end of any cancellation period, [14 days for Broadband] [31 days for Sky Q].

Thank you for replying. Last time I eventually managed to get a Sky agent in an online chat. What is the quickest way to get to this step please.

You can call Sky free by dialling 150 from a Sky Talk landline or a Sky Mobile, alternatively you can use:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a dedicated ROI number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).
You will find that similar to calling other large companies the start will be automated which may also try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and don’t hang up. If necessary say nothing when the automated system asks you what your call is about as it should then route your call into a queue for the next available agent.
