Hung up on call from Sky

I got a call earlier claiming to be from Sky from the number 0800 761 3372, and since I've had scam callers claim to be from Sky before I just hung up. I've only ever had scammers on my landline though and this was on my mobile so I decided to search the number and found it's Sky's legit outgoing number. I saw other posts saying when they were called by this number they were offered help lowering their bills, but I was wondering is there any chance this call was about anything actually urgent or important with my account or is it just a marketing number?

This link confirms the number is used by Sky for outbound calls but that's not to say it can't be spoofed.

Keep getting spam calls

I called your sky customer care number got through..she ask for my number just in case my line went off line so I did  I did get sorted with my prescription. So I hung up THEN IN 10M LATER I GETTING PHONE CALLS FROM SCAMS 

Iam received 7 calls in 20m . seems bit strange Iam hope in there haven't giving my phone to someone .

Ive just recieved a call from this number.

If it is genuine, a tip for Sky would be to have a quieter setting for the calls to be made from along with callers that are able to speak clearly about what the call is about

@Toon2  Your post has been moved from the email forum, this is not an email route to Sky but for Sky/Yahoo email  isses.

 

Please also note this is a customer helps customer community, you're not talking to Sky customer services.

 

Scam calls can come in at any time and it's highly unlikely to be rel;ated to you call to Sky.  It's more likely just coincidence.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

I just received a call from a number ending in 3372 number this afternoon. The man on the phone tried to get me to upgrade my Sky subscription but when I said I wasn't interested he hung up on me. If it was a genuine Sky caller he was unprofessional to say the least.

I got called by this number but I let unknown numbers go to voicemail. If you are genuine leave a message otherwise I'm going to ignore you

I have now been continually rung by this number and as I have cancelled my TV contract I am not going to answer it. They never leave a message to say who they are which I now feel is typical of Sky's now pathetic customer service.

However I did once have an accidental voicemail which must have one of the spoof ones because the message was in Chinese.

'Chinese Embassy/Consulate fraud' is a whole different criminal undertaking, and perpetrated worldwide.
