You need to contact Sky to reduce any part of your Sky TV package or cancel it completely giving the required notice of 31 days. Remember, the latest T’s and C’s for TV subscriptions explicitly state you can only cancel within a minimum discounted term if Sky agree to it. If they do allow it you’ll end up paying off the rest of the discounted term.
Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following link which will lead to a phone number.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ The link should include an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ it’s only by ringing or writing in.
If you cancel correctly you should receive a confirmation email from Sky.
If you’re cancelling Sky Q totally don’t forget it’s very important that you keep you proof of posting indefinitely when you return the box(es) as Unipart are not quick at telling Sky you have sent equipment back. Return packaging will be sent out towards the end of your notice period.
~~~~~
To cancel Sky Broadband and Sky Talk totally, or if you’re moving to Virgin Media you'll have to contact Sky and give the required notice of 14 days, but if you are still in the initial 18 months deal Sky could impose cancellation charges. This link may help https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-broadband
If you are changing to another provider who also uses the Openreach infrastructure then join up with them and they should contact Sky on your behalf.
You’ll need to return any loaned router to Sky, so it’s very important you get proof of posting and keep it indefinitely. Return packaging will be sent out to you near the end of the notice period.
When available the messaging/chat seems to work well. I've just cancelled via this route without too much hassle - other than some ridiculously expensive options to try and get me to stay. I mean £2 off?
Surprisingly... I was offered the same £2 discount when I rang up last week along with a £20 admin charge (for someone doing their job which they were doing anyway) and it was portrayed as a really good discount.. hence why I find myself on this thread about cancelling!
You can't cancel via this public forum. See the previous replies for how to cancel. There's no general increase in May.
My Sky package has increased from £64.50 in April last year, to £92.95 when my contract expires
my cahrge in February for TV was £21.01 Talk& broadband £43.50
my charge in March & April for TV £22.95 Talk & Broadband £50.00
in May TV goes to £27.77 Broadband & Talk £53.91 June total package £92.95
I want to terminate my contract for all services as soon as able under the terms of their one sided contract
After 15 years with Sky obviously loyalty counts for nothing thank goodness we don't have HD,films , or sports!
seems a total rip off by Sky
OK, contact Sky to cancel or as it looks like some of your discounts expire in May, to renegotiate.
My bill is going from £92.50 to £142.50.
New customer with the same sky tv packages and a quicker broadband offer us currently £85.
Best they can offer me us £120, but i can ring back on 5th may to see if there are any new offers. Just shows that loyalty gets you nothing (23 years VIP)
Come 5th May, i have a feeling packages and broadband will be getting cancelled.
As you've discovered Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount but if you’re offered something acceptable you need to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer may no longer be available.
If you already have a Sky Mobile or a Sky Talk landline call free by just dialling 150, otherwise you can use:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number.
ROI: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0818 number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).
As with most large companies the start will be automated but stay on the line and don’t hang up if you’re prompted to.
Cancelled mine a week ago had full package & broadband was going up from £92 to £138.00!! Got fibre for £24 and freesat box - Sky are an absolute joke! Been with them for over 20 years and clearly not interested in keeping loyal customers - good riddance!
we have been with sky for 17 yrs, called for a deal 3 times, sky offering nothing to stay, bill going from £49 to £90, i even offer to take broadband to them, but still no deal , so its free view for me. and two fingers to sky.
