EXPENSIVE PAYMENTS FOR SKY TV

HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WITHIN SKY WILL READ THIS

SKY TV, seems to be getting to expensive to carry on paying. I have been a valued and long term customer for over 30 years and yet they do not want to help in reducing the costs for, what they call valued and long standing loyal customers.

Always happy to do deals for new customers but never really want to help those that have been with them for long periods of time.

Having all this stuff you could potentially have via VIP is fine, but nothing every suits me. I would prefer a cost reduction, especially in the current climate.

Other companies seem to be offering better deals, so I am considering cancelling my current services and leaving SKY.

Perhaps someone from SKY might like to contact me to discuss things. Before I potentially look at stopping my monthly payments, that may get your attention.

Contact info, you have that on my account.

I have filled out the complaint forms and sent emails, but no one ever seems to respond or give me the required answers.

Hopefully something will happen now.

Stopping payments won't get the attention you want.

Stopping payments is the worst thing you can do. The matter will just be passed to debt collectors and your credit score will be impacted.

Taking a new customer deal from another provider might be your best way forward. But bear in mind you'll be in the same position with a new provider once your initial discounts have expired.

Attracting new customers is much harder than keeping them (you're a good example) but if you can't negotiate a price you're happy with then give notice to leave.

I'm not sure you have a valid complaint.

We are mainly fellow customers here. No one will contact you on the back of a post on here, in fact your Sky account and your Community username are not linked so no one will know who you are.  Others have correctly explained the ramifications of cancelling payments.

I have filled out the complaint forms and sent emails, but no one ever seems to respond or give me the required answers.

I agree that I can't see where you have grounds for complaining. Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount, and recent posts on here indicate that significant discounts are now harder to come by.

Its getting silly now, the prices.

Next months bill is €154. Cancelled Sky Sports and Cinema today and shopping around elsewhere, will likely cancel the lot and go with someone else.

@Nalinho

Have any discounts recently ended?

Re: EXPENSIVE PAYMENTS FOR SKY TV

Yeah a couple but even re activated some of them the best they could do was €135. Ridiculous really so had no option but to cancel some stuff.

Looking at Virgin, I can get 1GB broadband and TV for €110 per month. Same products.

Yup, a new customer deal.  Once those expire, you're in the same boat...

@Nalinho

What you're seeing there are new customers prices. You're not a new customer to Sky.

@Nalinho

Yes it will be cheaper because they are enticing you to join as a new customer. If you join them the same will happen at the end of your discount period.
