Due to the BBC/SKY deal we are one of older customers who still have the original SD box. Phone call from sky to tell us we have to take SKY Q box at no additional charge. I am assuming this is the 1TB bog standard Q box. With no HD. However my subscription at present is £40 per month. To order a SKYQ without offer of a free one would be cheaper. Will my payment stay the same at £40.

That is correct.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhatever package you are on now will remain the same when you move to Sky Q and your monthly price will also not charge. All Sky Q boxes are HD which is why you will need to upgrade if your current one isnt.

The only reason I was given by lady on phone for the change, is that it is required due to BBC deal with SKY. We would not be able to recieve BBC one or Ichannel if we kept the old box. SKY were being forced to offer the box changes to all SD box customers. At no additional charge. So it looks like only thing changing is the box??

The lady on the phone also said we would enjoy the picture being in HD? Ami correct in thinking that will not be the case unless we subscribe to HD at extra cost.
