Re: Cancelling My Sky

I recently cancelled my Sky contract and waited an hour for the hone to be answered

I hate it and we can be sure if I was going to be paying more the answer would be instant

Next day Sky rang and offered the contract at the pre price increase

I said no because I was so annoyed waiting for Sky to answer the phone when I wanted to cancel.  This deliberately poor service puts me off ever coming back

The arrogance of wasting my time is deeply annoying

Re: Cancelling My Sky

The issue I am getting now is although I have cancelled my whole package TV & Broadband, every piece of correspondence I get refers to me just cancelling broadband and keeping TV.  I have called to clear this up but then the next letter the same again, just broadband.  I used to think sky was a professional outfit.  My view has changed somewhat now.

Re: Cancelling My Sky

I can understand this. It is disappointing that when you need help Sky make it soooo difficult yet when they want to sell you something or spend more they are all over you .. shame on you Sky .. makes me wonder what the ethic of such an organisation are

Re: Cancelling My Sky

I ordered a new phone and sim on 17th Sept and paid €210 upfront,as much as I tried I could not complete the verification process as it was telling me it was complete,after numerous phone calls and being put through to India(which I could not understand as I have a hearing issue)I had my order cancelled and redone,but alas the same thing,I am finding this company very evasive in responding and replying to my requests,anyone else have these issues ?

I'm not sure how it works for ROI customers but it could be worth considering registering with the Sky Accessibility Team who may be able to help now or in the future. Once registered there are also different methods of communication with this team other than phoning

Re: Cancelling My Sky

I called Sky in August to cancel after being a sky subscriber for over 30 years... I became disollusioned with their inability to actually listen to a customer...

me sky TV ended in the middle of September, My broadband transferred to BT...  I paid the final bills , even got a rebate...

and now, a moth after leaving... they're trying to  bill me for a broadband service they switched off,  and are threatening me because I cancelled my DD.

they want me to contact them but the only way to do so is to hang on a phone for hours... not doing it.

it's their mistake or miscommunication...

 It really is a **bleep** show

@Brian006

Was that when you called to say you want to cancel or was it the day you left Sky ?

Do you see this £210 as a credit on your account ?

What was your billing date each month ?

Re: Cancelling My Sky

That why I left them. I signed up for a month of football for my SIL was staying and when I ended the month on month no contract provision I got stiffed as they wanted to uplift my whole package.

in the end after so many calls I just told them to cancel the lot.  That was in August. They refuse to release my phone number.  Have fun BT ragged transferring the fibre and are not bullying my over a DD and claiming I owe them for a broadband provision and yet I have emails and multiple texts saying sorry you're leaving, please don't go, it's not to late to change your mind.  I'm so done with Sky.

I can't believe how may of you are suffering the same awful service ....

Re: Cancelling My Sky

I called sky in May 2024  to try to get a better deal on sports, they gave me a the best deal they could and told me to call back in 6 months as i was out of contract.

I called back after six months (maybe 3 weeks early) and looked for a better deal, they told me that i was in contrcat until May 2025. I did not agree to this contract extenstion in May 2024 so the sky contact lied to me and put me on a new year contract.

I asked could the call be listened to, and requested a call back. Sick of waiting for call back after days i called back and they listened to call, and agreed that the sky advised had no informed me, but i am still in contract and they can do NOTHING.

I have been on  calls with  different sky advisers and all they want to do is sell me services, and all i want to do is cancel.

I dont want to cancel direct debit but i feel i have no other option, they will not cancel my subsciption even though admitting that i did not agree to new contact and this is recorded.

I cannot face another call with people that are just paid to make sales, and will not cancel.

Advice? This must be agaist consumer and contract law

@johnpmc22

Very unwise to cancel a payment method. Cancelling your payment method will increase your problems. Sky services will be restricted, late payment fees will be added, you won't be able to speak to Sky, you won't be able to cancel and continued non payment will result in Sky passing the debt to a Debt Recovery company which will ultimately affect your credit score.
