Its errelevent as im out of contract on all tv and broadband services. I gave them over 30 days notice via the phone and this was just ignored (I only found this out when i used sky message service a few days later) they did not send a confirmation email as promised.
I then re cancelled vis sky message and they confirmed cancelation but i have since checked and it still hasnt cancled. I have since escalated to complaints department and have to go through whole process again!! Nearly 2 weeks after first cancelation. I say again im out of contract and have been for months my contract is just rolling. So there is no reason for this not to happen...

My main issue is sky is breaking the law by not canceling my contract despite me giving the required legal notice (im not in any contract other than rolling) so surely therfore t&c's that they have broken do not count.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Danny270917 it's all too vague to comment on really, especially as we don't know what took place in your various communications with Sky. Calls are recorded so if you gave notice properly during your call, Sky will have a record of it. Either way, the sensible thing to do is speak to Sky, rather than continuing to ignore the online chat offer.

Not sure whats vague about it and this is now a clown accadamy for simple clarafication
1. Im out of contract
2.i gave notice
3. Sky acknoeledge this and verbally say its cancelled on phone and will send an email
4.no email sent so after a few days i use chat service
5 have to go through whole process again on message service they confirm say they will email confirmation
6 sky dont send email
7 weeks later i message comllaint line and they say i have to go through whole process again
So im glad all is recorded as i still believe im.in the right and this will back it up.
This whole experiance has been stressfull and pointless with know help here at all
Thanks👍

I know you have said you received no notification of cancelling, but have you also double checked your future bills to see if there has been any changes on your account. For example, I have moved from Q to Stream. So whilst my Stream is now showing future bills as expected, my Q account looks like this.

Sky will have sent you the terms and conditions of your contract when you signed up. It has forever been the case that 31 days notice to cancel most services is required. Cancelling your direct debit won't cancel your Sky service, and will only result in an increasing debt which Sky will ultimately seek to recover from you. What problem are you having with getting through on the phone? There are alternative ways of contacting Sky shown via the still need help button here: https://www.sky.com/help/home/your-account/my-account-and-subscription/cancelling/cancel-my-subscrip...

Thanks for the link however can they realy get away with a contract that no one signs?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou don't sign a contract for the terms and conditions, when you signed up as a new customer you would have agreeded to those T&Cs regardless of whether you signed up online (when you could have read them) or over the phone when the main bits from then would have been read to you.

Not all contracts are signed, they are often by performance for example, e.g. car parks.
Ultimately, Sky wouldn't have supplied you services without the terms being accepted by you. If the matter went to court your suggestion there was no signed contract would fail.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreEmail receipts are fairly meaningless. Bearing in mind it was October it may have been wise to follow it up more promptly.
