Cancelled broadband
I originally cancelled my package but changed my mind and renewed my sky TV and broadband on the 26th October. i have the screen shots of the chat with the advisor to prove this. I started getting text to say my internet was going off today so on Saturday I rang them and an advisor said they can't understand why they can't restore it but will email tech and ring me back in an hour ( no such contact was made ) I called back yesterday to be told there is nothing they can do and it will be shut off. I work from home so I can't work now. I have been told if I call today they should be able to get me back online but they dont know how long it will takel I'm quite annoyed as it is the fault of the original advisor who hasn't restored my service and I am going to lose pay now. How long does it normally take to restore your broadband please. I have raised an official complaint

Re: Cancelled broadband
They are now saying I need to wait 24hours before replacing the order AND it could take a week !! Not what the advisor yesterday told me. He said 48hours

Re: Cancelled broadband
When Sky have already notified Openreach of your cancellation request, it's sometimes too late for Sky to subsequently be able to undo it.
Consequently the cancellation has to go through before Sky can place a new order. Openreach's usual lead time for activation of a new order is 10-14 days.

Re: Cancelled broadband
- thank you for replying. Would you be able to advise of a temporary solution to get internet access for this period only? I have children who need access to computer for there homework and like I said I work from home? I have a Currys nearby if I could get anything there?

It's not my area of expertise but you could probably use your mobile as a wifi hot-spot to tide you over. I've done that once and it worked OK. You'll need a suitable mobile data package, of course.
